After Peter Obi’s statement that Yahoo Boys are geniuses who need rehabilitation, not condemnation, a controversial comment appeared in support: “I know it takes a smart person to cash out.” While it may sound like praise for intelligence, the comment dangerously glorifies fraud and criminal activity. Intelligence used for deceit is not something to be admired. Cybercrime exploits and destroys the hard work of innocent people. True smartness lies in creativity, innovation, and integrity—not in manipulating systems for illegal gain. Supporting such behavior under the guise of “smartness” only normalizes crime and weakens moral values in society.
