Rather than condemn the reckless demolition, one user irresponsibly commented, “Can’t the residents burn that thing? … Lagosians are the biggest cowards I know.” This statement is both reckless and dangerous, as it encourages violence and destruction instead of justice through lawful means. Calling victims “cowards” for not retaliating ignores their trauma and suffering. What’s needed is accountability and compassion, not incitement to chaos or insults toward people already facing distress.
