A disturbing video of popular TikToker DJ Chicken being beaten by an angry mob after reportedly hitting two bikers and a passenger with his Toyota truck has stirred reactions online. While his actions were reckless and endangered lives, mob justice is never the right approach. Such incidents can easily escalate and lead to death, as seen in many similar cases across Nigeria. Law enforcement should have been called in to handle the situation legally.

One insensitive comment under the post mocked him, saying, “See as he come fresh like new wedded husband. Make up too lit!” This kind of remark trivializes violence and makes light of a serious issue. Violence should never be celebrated or turned into a joke.
