After the NDLEA announced the arrest of three drug traffickers in Lagos, one user fueled tribal division by claiming, “Only Yoruba and Igbo dey run crime in Nigeria. Only them.” This is both false and harmful. Crime in Nigeria is not limited to one or two tribes — fraud, trafficking, and corruption have cut across every region. Reducing national issues to tribal blame creates unnecessary tension and distracts from holding criminals, not communities, accountable. Every tribe has law-abiding citizens and wrongdoers alike. It is unfair, misleading, and dangerous to single out Yorubas or Igbos as the sole face of crime.
