After CCTV exposed a house help urinating in a kitchen plate, one user shifted the blame to employers, writing: “I blame the people who employ maids. Whatever things your eyes see with your maid, you brought it up on yourself.” This kind of reasoning is unfair. Many house helps are hardworking, trustworthy, and even grateful for the opportunity to support their families. Condemning everyone who employs domestic staff ignores this reality and wrongly shifts responsibility away from the individual who committed the act. The focus should remain on holding the person at fault accountable, not generalizing or blaming employers.
