Under Reno Omokri’s post about Peter Obi and the possibility of Nnamdi Kanu getting a presidential pardon, tempers flared — expected. But one comment crossed a line completely: “People like this should be stoned! No atom of loyalty in them.”

This is exactly how political debates in Nigeria keep derailing into chaos. You can disagree with Reno. You can drag him. You can question his priorities or call out selective activism. But the moment someone suggests stoning another human being because of political opinion, the conversation has stopped being political — it’s now incitement.

And that’s the scary part: people are getting too comfortable using violent language like it’s normal banter. It only fuels hostility, tribal tension, and the idea that political opponents deserve physical harm.

Criticism is fine. Violence — even as a “joke” — is a red flag.
