When Omah Lay shared his struggle with losing his mind and asked God for help, many expected sympathy. Instead, some responded with mockery and insensitivity. One comment bluntly read: “You no get half of the problem wey we get!! SO ENJOY YOUR RASE TOO.” This kind of response dismisses someone’s pain by comparing struggles, as if suffering were a competition. Mental health doesn’t depend on who has “more problems.” Everyone’s burden is valid, and empathy should never be conditional. Comparing pains only deepens isolation. What we need is compassion, not ridicule—because kindness costs nothing but can save lives.
