This statement is highly discriminatory and prejudiced, as it unfairly associates the actions of a few violent students with the entire Yoruba ethnic group. Labeling a tribe’s “heritage” as one of drug abuse and violence is not only false but also dangerously divisive.

Such comments promote ethnic hate and reinforce negative stereotypes rather than addressing the true concern — the alarming rate of youth involvement in cultism and substance abuse. These are national issues, not tribal characteristics.

Instead of turning social problems into tribal insults, we should focus on education, mentorship, and community reform to guide young people toward positive change.
