The statement “Nigeria will be a much better country and greater without Ibo” is not just offensive—it is dangerous hate speech. It reflects deep-rooted tribalism and a refusal to acknowledge the value of unity in a multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria. The Igbo people, like every other ethnic group, have contributed immensely to Nigeria’s progress—in commerce, education, innovation, and leadership.

Wishing away an entire tribe based on prejudice is not only ignorant but also a threat to national peace. Such rhetoric fuels division, incites hatred, and undermines the spirit of unity and coexistence that Nigeria desperately needs. No nation becomes “great” by discarding its own people.
