Following the controversial Bokku Mart advert that stereotyped Igbo people as cheats, an X user worsened the situation by posting, “Ibos, can you boycott the entire Yorubaland instead of only Bokku? Because wetin una dey find for here before?” This statement goes beyond criticism — it directly promotes hate and exclusion.

Rather than addressing the real issue, which was the offensive ad, this comment calls for division between two major ethnic groups. Suggesting that Igbos should leave Yoruba land is not only discriminatory but also dangerous, as it fuels tribal tension and hostility. Nigerians live and work across regions, contributing to national growth regardless of tribe. Turning a business controversy into an ethnic battle only widens the gap between people who should coexist peacefully. What the country needs is unity, understanding, and dialogue — not words that encourage hate or separation.
