After the conviction of Chukwudi Nwachukwu for trafficking young Nigerian girls into Ghana, the tribal tension in the comments section escalated. One user went as far as writing, “The person that included this tribe with Nigeria really made a great mistake… They should’ve included them with Cameroon or Zimbabwe.”

This statement is extremely offensive and divisive. Suggesting that the Igbo tribe does not belong in Nigeria undermines national unity and promotes ethnic hatred. Nigeria’s strength lies in its diversity, and no ethnic group should be made to feel unwanted because of one person’s crime. Such comments deepen division, encourage hostility, and weaken the spirit of togetherness that a multi-ethnic country like Nigeria should uphold.
