In response, one insensitive comment stated, “Ain’t these the kids looting and vandalizing during protests in the north? Mad government with mad citizens.” Such a remark overlooks a critical point: even alleged offenders deserve humane treatment. Failing to provide basic care to detainees—especially vulnerable minors—undermines justice and basic human rights.
