Painting an entire ethnic group as “murderous” because of the actions of terrorists is dangerous, inflammatory, and unfair. It turns a security crisis into an ethnic war, and once that fire starts, it becomes almost impossible to control.

Calling for citizens to “mobilize” against a tribe isn’t bravery—it’s a shortcut to violence, revenge attacks, and mass profiling of people who are not involved. Nigeria is already tense; adding ethnic hostility into the mix only deepens division. What we need is pressure for effective governance and proper justice, not mob action fueled by stereotypes and anger.
