In the aftermath of a conversation between American rapper DDG and a Nigerian woman that ended with her asking him for money, a Nigerian remarked, “Nigerians can beg ehn. Any small opportunity like this, bambiala spirit go appear.” While her request might spark valid criticism, this comment unfairly stereotypes Nigerians as opportunistic beggars. Such remarks ignore the diverse and industrious spirit of Nigerians excelling globally despite challenges.
