In response to a post about the high rate of nepotism in Nigeria, a comment read: “When Bubu was there, he did the same thing, this isn’t the Naija problem, make una rest.”
This kind of comment deflects responsibility and dismisses legitimate concerns. While previous leaders may have contributed to systemic issues, that doesn’t excuse ongoing problems. Instead of accepting nepotism as the norm, it’s crucial to address these challenges head-on, advocate for fairness, and push for reforms that benefit all citizens, regardless of their ethnic background.
