On a disturbing post where a man admitted to killing his girlfriend after she reported him to the EFCC, another highly insensitive comment read: “Baba well done at least the matter na 50 50.” This statement equates betrayal with murder, as if the two are equal wrongs, which is completely false and dangerous. Betrayal, no matter how painful, is never a justification for taking a life. Murder is irreversible and a crime against both humanity and God. Comments like this only promote violence instead of encouraging peaceful solutions and accountability. Betrayal is hurtful — but murder is evil.
