A post on X asked users to list “20 states that will never make it, even if Nigeria improves.” Shockingly, an activist, who should foster hope, responded by condemning two states, writing, “What about Kogi and Jigawa?” Such statements not only discourage the people of these regions but can also foster resentment and defiance.

Every state, no matter its challenges, holds the potential for growth if given the right support and opportunities. Writing off entire regions undermines collective progress and can demoralize efforts toward development. Activists, especially, play a crucial role in inspiring positive change. Instead of perpetuating negativity, the focus should be on solutions that uplift all regions, ensuring no state is left behind.
