After a lady on X shared her ordeal of being denied a house due to her tribe, the discussion sadly turned into finger-pointing. One comment read: “Na Yoruba do tribalism pass.” This type of generalization is harmful. Tribalism is not the trademark of any single ethnic group—it is a problem that cuts across Nigeria. From the North to the South, stories of discrimination exist. Singling out one tribe shifts attention away from addressing the real issue: intolerance. If we are truly serious about ending tribalism, we must confront it collectively rather than fuel it with stereotypes.
