In the viral video of a couple’s heated argument that escalated into the woman threatening her husband with a knife, one disturbing comment stood out: “She has a very beautiful case but the moment she picked up that knife she messed it up… I understand the guy can trigger but why pick the knife when you can see he’s with the camera.”
This mindset is alarming. Instead of condemning the act of grabbing a weapon — which is dangerous, abusive, and completely unjustifiable — the commenter was more concerned about the camera. Violence is wrong regardless of who is recording or what was said before. Normalizing physical threats because someone was “triggered” is exactly how abuse gets excused and repeated. A “beautiful case” doesn’t involve a knife.
